美国Sci-Ag Systems公司致函我室,介绍其中央空调新技术,希望与国内企业合作,开拓美国及国际市场。我室将为有兴趣的公司与对方建立联系。
Our new approaches to air conditioning and invention are described in brief below. Our system takes advantage of fluid, like water, having heat capacity 3,617 times greater than air in equal volume. Small amount of fluid is far more efficient for heat transfer between evaporator of a refrigeration unit or heating elements than very large volume of air if favorable conditions are furnished. Heat content of a small amount of cooled or heated fluid is maintained intact without energy waste during transport to destination while air ducting of a domestic central air conditioning system has energy waste well documented over 20% (Berkeley Lawrence National Laboratory). Small well-insulated 1/8 inch ID and % inch OD tubing transports fluid without heat leakage to an innovative Active heat exchanger in a room or space at destination for final heat transfer with ambient room air. These arrangements plus a new condenser design achieve significant energy savings as well as large economic savings.
The present system is a precursor of a cooling and heating system utilizing solar energy. Our research and development goal is to utilize high temperature fluid of 500 to 600°F easily obtainable with parabolic mirror surfaces and a storage system for providing majority of energy for both cooling and heating. Cooling will be accomplished not by a compressor system but absorption method involving ammonia or lithium bromide. Energy consuming compressor is eliminated. For heating higher temperature fluid in storage will provide longer period of heating. Energy usage of our future system will be small for operation of pumps and fans of individual heat exchangers. Such small energy use will be available for 3 to 4 sunless days. Electric heating will be provided as backup for our system. Cost will be much lower for minimum energy use as well as for equipment. This development may not be immediately popular in North America, but will find Europe and Pacific/Asia region a ready market. The development is step 2 in our invention. Our present system will be popular with the North American market for some time.
Our present system's economic savings are particularly pronounced competing with traditional central air conditioning systems in US. Thousands of dollars can be saved from elimination of duct works, installation and air handler. For an average 2,000 to 2,500 square foot home, ducting costs reach $3,000 and installation $4,500 to $6,000. Since our refrigerant will be pre-charged like a refrigerator there is no need for an air conditioning contractor with certified technician for installation, saving another $1,000 to 2,000. Elimination of air handler is another savings of $750 to $1,500. Reduction of refrigeration capacity from 5 ton to 3 tons and heating element capacity will also save energy and money. Part of this gain will be offset by the Active heat exchangers as well as the small reservoir and associated pumps; this additional cost is only a small portion of what can be saved. Of course, increasing the profit margin significantly and still reserving enough savings to the customer can be very satisfactory in marketing. America's market is large indeed with over 1.5 million new homes and nearly 400,000 multifamily homes built annually. Over half of the homes are equipped with air conditioning.
Our project has reached the state that requires testing a 3 ton Chinese made compressor with associated condenser and evaporator incorporated in our American domestic air conditioning system. Other components also made in China such as pumps, solenoid valves, motors, temperature sensors, will be tested for incorporation into our system. Components we made as prototypes for our system will also be sent to China ensuring manufacturing to specifications as well as for estimation of costs.
Mr. Pun welcomes the participation of the Chinese government, its agencies and Chinese air conditioning manufacturers in this joint venture. We can dominate the air conditioning market and set a new standard. More details will be available when proper authority is reached. Recent Chinese sentiments against Japanese in the Second World War coincide with Mr. Pun's feeling for many years. This is a chance to overturn the intended economic grip the US and Japan has on the very large world air conditioning market. At age of close to 75, Mr. Pun feels its is-time to repay. his ancestral country.
