Since the establishment of diplomatic relationship, the two countries have become the second largest trading partners for each other. A pattern featuringeconomic interdependence, mutual benefit and win-win relationship and a patternof each having something of the other are taking shape.
After 30 years of reform and opening-up,

has become the 2nd largest economy, the first trading nation and ranking the first in the foreign exchange reserves in the world. Following the tremendous increase of foreign investment,

has been on top of the developing countries for the amount of actually utilizedforeign investment. There still exists huge potential for the furtherimprovement of Sino-U.S. economic and trade ties.
